Default New At&t 9000 Bold - Arrived Today!

Please Login to Remove!

Just set up our first At&t Bold today. We got a branded At&t unit and it is nice.

Just setup EA for our tech manager. The unit loaded quickly and shows 3g.
EA went just a bit faster than the 8310's and 8700's we use but it was not blazing-ly faster on EA. What I did notice is how fast it is just menuing the phone and menu's. The roller is subtle and light to the touch. The other item of interest is how heavy it feels yet with the rounded edges, it seems not much bigger than the curve but it actually is...

Now, I am still waiting on mine to come in!!!
So it is Real and I saw it!!!

H.

.167 OS...

I didn't get much of a chance to play with the browser as the manager had about 14 3rd party apps he was more concerned about. I just got the phone to EA and play with the menus... Make sure the reconcile and email came in etc.

I got to demo the Bold in Feb. at Wes in Orlando so I know what a great browser it has and esp. the video quality on the screen when playing a movie clip etc.

Just the speed of the trackball and menuing and how fast you can update the phone was impressive.

Now I can't wait for mine to arrive!! Woo Wooo....

I have to look at it again today and will take a pic. Not the white keyboard that was promised. If my memory suits me this morning - white on black keys...

The theme on the Bold compaired to 8310 or 8700 is a bit difficult to migrate if you have never seen one. The icons are a different "feel" overall. Another item I saw was all the third party apps were migrated to "Downloads" when I used the "Switch Device Wizard". If your walking someone through the menu's on the phone without the device, there are subtle differences... and falling back on the experience with the 4.2 and 4.5 os, the experience is a bit different.

Default Question

In your experience as a BB user do you know if I can have several SIMS depending on where in the world I am and switch them (having RIMM service in the carriers I use) with an unblocked BB.
Thanks

Hi and welcome to the forums...

I can't say if this would work but assume it would. Who is your carrier(s).
You can switch your sim for voice and I think this will work providing the Sim is provisioned. I am not sure about your data. If your on Bes, I honestly don't know what would happen to your data. If your on a BES, your pin will still be receiving mail from the BES your pin is tied to. If your on BIS, you might be able to get this to work also since your carrier is going to change but your pin is not and your BIS accounts will tie into the pin.

You may have to post in the regular forum so that you can get some visability on this and see if someone else will chime in.

Hi H.
Thanks for the answer. The BB will not be tied to a BES. It will have support on each computer I have on the differente countries I travel to, so I supouse it will be sync with the two computers I use (home+home abroad). I check that with some other forum and know how to do it. Now the only question is with the 2 SIMS (one for each carrier depending on were I am. AT&T in USA and DIGITEL in Venezuela) They both have BB support. See if with this info maybe you can give me the answer so I can proceed and purchase the Bold before getting out of the PDA+Phone that I have now.
Thanks,
PvM
