Default Domino 6.5.X - End of Support

Please Login to Remove!

Domino Squad:
On April 30, IBM will end phone support for Domino, version 6.5.X
You can purchase an extension... price, predicated upon physical processors.
Could I get some feedback regarding what other BES Admins, running on Domino 6.5.X are going to do?

We are paying for an extension as we are eventually migrating to Exchange as we recently outsourced about 80% of our in-house data center and the outsourcing company will not support Domino/Notes. No tentative date as to when we're doing the migration however as we've currently got a larger ERP project in the works.

I tried to at least get them to upgrade to 7 or even go all the way to 8.5.1, however they didn't want to spend the time nor resources to get that project under way. Basically our entire focus is on getting the ERP in place and functioning so they decided it would be easier to keep what we've got and focus on the larger projects.

We upgraded to Domino 8.x. The cost of extended support for 6 vs the upgrade to 8 was the primary factor. While it cost us a bit more up front, it's been worth it.
