Question retreiving my whole imap inbox?

Please Login to Remove!

I lost the messages in my pearl inbox and I m trying to retreive my emails.
I see all the inbox messages when accessing it with my computer but for some reason my phone isn't retreiving them. is there any way to repair that, to push the emails back onto my phone?

I tried "reconcile now" but nothing happens. maybe with desktop software?

No, there's no way to do that with the BlackBerry.
You'd need to email those messages to yourself if you want them on your device.
Otherwise, you can try restoring them from your most recent backup.

Believe it or not, this is possible - but there's a trick to it. First, your email needs to be on an IMAP4 server... if you have a gmail account, with IMAP enabled, you can use that. Copy the emails you want re-sent to your blackberry to the inbox of the IMAP server, then select the emails and mark them as unread. Once you do this, the BIS will reconnect to the inbox shortly, and pick up the 'new' emails, and send them back to your berry.

I found this out the hard way ;) I had to sit through about 600 mails being sent to my berry this morning because of a server snafu.

Peace,
Stac

really weird.
it worked once when i tested it, and now it doesn't want to do it anymore.

I tried to mark 2600 messages as unread though, maybe I messed something up?

note: I still get my new emails on the phone... just not the ones i mark as "unread" anymore...

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8100/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Well, I'm glad it worked the first time - probably has something to do with the UIDs that the server uses to keep track of what it has downloaded already. Glad I could help.

Peace,
Stac

OK I finally succeeded after looking around for a couple days or so.

I am posting this here in case somebody has the same problem in the future.

the idea was to have the blackberry pearl "finding" the emails on an imap inbox a "second time". Marking all the emails as 'unread' wasn't enough for the blackberry to re-download them somehow.. not sure why exactly.

so here it is, i added a simple step to it:
1- I erased all the new messages received in my pearl.
2- Using Mac Mail (I think this can be done with any email app), I selected all the emails in my inbox (2500+ emails..) and marked them as unread.
3- I selected the option "move emails to -my inbox- again" from the menu bar.
4- wait a couple hours for all the emails to reappear in your blackberry.

yea!
