Default separating SMS messages?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,
I just received my 8310 this morning and have been playing around with it all day, Ive gotten nothing else done... ironically i have a feeling this thing is not going to help my productivity, haha!
here is my first newbie question.
can i put a icon on my desktop that will go directly to my SMS folder?

i separated my email and SMS messages under options, but the icon on te desktom goes to my email inbox rather then my SMS inbox. i then have to go to the menu: select view folder, SMS inbox to get to my new SMS messages... it is a little annoying.
So, recapping, i want my messages icon to go directly to my SMS inbox.
Could anyone help me out?
Thanks so much,
greg

My os is v. 4.5.0.81
and my carrier is AT&T

When you seperated them, do you seperate or use theme controled. After doing so try pulling the battery with the BB powered on.

Also push the menu key and click on show all and make sure the icon is not hidden.

Hi again,
i have been plying around a little more and come to the conclusion that my issue is with the AT&T theme i have on my homepage. it does not have a icon that goes straight to my SMS, MMS folders. i found this when i switched to the blackberry standard icon theme, there was one there. i looked to see if one was hidden but there is not, so is it possible for me to create my own icon that will go to my SMS box within the preloaded At&T theme, or should i search for another theme that fits my needs?

tbird57: No my 8310 did not come with 4.5, i loaded it from one of the posts on this forum using the delete vendor.xml method and the software from another carrier.
