You set your own wep key in your router. You have to get from your router settings. Do you know how to log into your router?

I've tryed that it gives me a message "WEP key must be 10 or 26 haxadecimal(0-9,a-f) digits, or 5 or 13 characters" when i put in the code I have set.

On your router you put in your password or code then the encryption changes it to another code. That new changed code becomes the wep key.

got the same errors. doesn't seem like the apple airport extreme and UMA get along. PITA. now i've gotta go out and spend $$ on a linksys tmobile branded router to make UMA work? Totally pissed now...

Used it at Starbucks and worked great.. Get home and its not. The latest update to the airport extreme ruined bittorrent type traffic and now UMA isn't supported....

Gee apple... glad I chucked out $$ for it now...

was reading something on howardforums about other people having problems using the airport extreme with UMA. Doesn't appear as it supports the proper settings for it. Looking for other input from MAC users with the 8320 using UMA on the airport extreme.

I would love to hear more from more users as well. I would sooner dump the $10/mo wifi calling add-on than swap out my AE network...

You don't need the H@H to make wifi calls. You only need it if you don't want wifi calls to come out of your minute plan.

And, yes, the Airport Extreme doesn't play well with UMA on the 8320.

i've decided to abandon the airport extreme on my network until the firmware is updated. I reconnected my linksys router and get the 8320 UMA to work perfectly and my network is fine. As soon as the airport extreme is updated and/or the 8320 is updated to support the airport w/out a lot of hacks, i'll stick w/ my linksys.

Default Linksys router for H@H

I also had trouble with my Airport extreme router, and in the end I bought the Tmobile Linksys router that came almost free (with rebate) from Tmobile in conjunction with the Hotspot at Home contract. The Linksys router works fine, though it did take a bit of help from their telephone support, as the administration disk that comes with the Linksys router runs only on a PC computer, and I don't have a PC. Now that I have switched, the UMA signal on my Curve is always on at home, whereas with the Airport Extreme, the UMA signal was intermittent.

agree... i love the airport extreme but until the fix is put in where the UMA works without hiccups like the linksys does, I won't switch back. The UMA features in the 8320 and linksys combo far outvalue using the airport on my albeit small network. Discussions on the apple forums and howardforums haven't yielded much to make the airport extreme work with the 8320.

Oh well...

And you have UMA working? No dropped calls after a few minutes?

i guess i spoke too soon. UMA worked fine for internet browsing and two seperate calls to voicemail, but just had my first extended phone call via UMA and it cut out 6-7 minutes in.

My Airport Extreme works brilliantly with my 8320 UMA. Clear calls, no drops.

Hey guys I am a dummy when it comes to networking, Is it posible to keep my APE and hook another router to it to provide two wireless networks, one for my computers and one that works with the Curve/UMA? I guess it is stupid but I really want to keep my Air Disk.

I heard that Lunk had it working but I was thinking it might work differently with the apple product.
