Version 1.0.0.2 US version does. 1.0.0.11 (newer) doesn't.

That's surprising. Have you notified Sling about that so they try to fix it? It's one of the few paid apps that I have.

1.0.0.11 works on my 8320. When on edge, if I set it to "low bandwidth" I can get video to be ok, but with some chop. That's why I was hoping for 3G to have a chance at normal video without wifi.

The old version of Sling was ok, so I can live with that, but the new one has some nicer features.

Default Slingplayer for my 9700

Hi Guys, when I go to download the slingplayer, I get the "not compatible" message. I guess I have the newer software?!?! I have tried to send an email to Sling Media but I can’t find the link. Anyone have any suggestions?

Good luck with that. I tried to find an email because I wanted to ask if they would allow me to transfer the license to a new device and I couldn't find any support contact.

I can only find a phone number in the support section.

But they have an online form about orders you could try:
https://store.slingmedia.com/store/s...CS/#bottomForm

Oh might be a diffferent place for the UK. Try through support then some reference to help about orders.

I recently got a Blackberry Bold 9700 and downloaded v1.0.0.11 US after getting the instructions on how to do so (since Slingmedia's website wouldn't directly allow me to download it).

For me, it does seem to work on both my Slingbox Classic and my Slingbox Solo (over the internet as well as when connected via LAN). With my Slingbox Classic, I did get an initial warning message but it worked after that. With the Slingbox Solo, it just worked.

The only problem that I've noticed is that if I select "Audio Only", the SlingPlayer for Blackberry Mobile seems to do nothing and gets stuck in this phase. The only way that I was able to get out of it and continue using it was to exit the program and delete it and reinstall it.

I had the same problem as yourself...

I managed to download it directly onto my Blackberry Bold 9700 by going to: http://download.slingmedia.com/playe...bold_EN_US.jad

The link didn't work when I typed it in directly onto my Blackberry Bold 9700 browser. I also tried downloading the file to my PC and sending it to myself but this also didn't work (got an error message).

I got it to work by going into the forum with my Blackberry 9700 built-in browser and clicking on the hyperlink in the forum. I hope that this method works for you as well.

Yes. I was on the beta testing programa and let Sling know about my problems with builds post 1.0.0.1 release. 1.0.0.11 runs on my TMO 8320 but the interaction with my Verizon FIOS DRV via my Sling SOLO is problematic. I cannot pull up the GUIDE nor any other menu. Changing channels makes the device blank out for 5-10 seconds. I never had those problems with 1.0.0.1. and it makes using SPM almost unwatchable.

Unfortunately using 1.0.0.1 now is not letting me log into Sling accounts to find my SLing box ID and pull up my favorites. I've let Sling know about this problem too.

I'm at the point now that I'm getting tired of the lack of speed from my 8320. I'm hoping for a great 3G experince with SPM on a speedy 9700.

Just don't try the "audio-only" mode... you might get a big nasty surprise.

I tried the "audio-only" mode on my Blackberry Bold 9700 and the only way that I could fix the problem was to delete and reinstall the application. When I went into this mode, SlingPlayer Mobile seemed to be doing something (streaming) but I wasn't getting audio and I obviously wasn't getting video. It just seemed to freeze like this.

Well, not a problem - I am so not an "audio only on TV" guy ....

Default Login Failed On My Blackberry

I have a slingbox which is working a computer and has had further software downloaded onto my husbands Itouch.

I have a blackberry 8900 the software is on it wants me to log in then states
login failed. Please try again.

I have ensured no one else is using it. I have made sure the password and user details are OK.

Am I missing something obvious please

If you are using SPM version 1.0.0.1 on the 8900 it doesn't login to SlingAccounts anymore with your e-mail and password . You'll need to add the SLINGBOX ID directly into the directory of the SPM app or upgrade to the 1.0.0.11 SPM client on sling's website.

Lol. Not that I doubted you, well maybe I did, but I had to try "listening mode" also and got stuck also. I had to uninstall and re-install to get past the hang too.

I am using the 1.0.0.2 version because I don't like the screen blanking in the current 1.0.0.11 version, but both versions do work on the 9700 (audio mode only is the exception)

3G and Wifi playback is exceptional.

shambasha,
You can OTA download the SPM directly from sling's site from the BB browser.

What do you mean by the "screen blanking" issue? When I use SlingPlayer v1.0.0.11 on my Blackberry Bold 9700, the screen doesn't "blank" as long as I'm watching something except when I go into "Audio Only" mode which I'll never do again.

shambasha: The link is in my post describing my problem as well as my solution. http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ml#post1507293

The direct link is: http://download.slingmedia.com/playe...bold_EN_US.jad

If you type it in manually on your Blackberry Bold browser, it might not work. In order for it to work for me, I had to go into this forum with my Blackberry Bold 9700 Browser (or another forum which had the link) and click on the link.

Smile Slingplayer for my 9700

Hi all, It works! As the other threads mention, you need to use the browser in your BB to log into this forum, and then click the link mentioned. The only other thing to clarify is NEVER click the listen only option as, again, it is mentioned that it messes the whole program up and the only way to release it is to delete the application then re-install it. Enjoy - it works a dream. Thanks guys!!
