hey guys im trying to install 4.5 on my friends curve and when i tried loading it onto the phone now it says jvm error 513 and reset. what do i do to be able to load 4.5 ? also when i press reset nothing happens

Have a look at the faq forum linked at the top of every page - it tells you how to do that there. I did the same to mine and an hour later I was back to normal

i cant connect using the wipe no matter what. ive wipe bb before but its not working at all

Make certain your USB is plugged direct to the back of the PC--not a USB hub, front PC port or a monitor port.

i connected the bb using the usb port on the computer and nothing is happening again and i did the command prompt stuff 3 times

Are you still getting the 513 error or a 507 error now?

Be patient, it could take multiple attempts before the BB is detected. It's been reported that it could take up to 20 or so attempts.

error 513 i kinda need to get this process started because im going out of town and none of my friends have any idea on what to do to upgrade an OS or anything basically they are BB noobs. so pretty much he will stuck without a phone all weekend, on a side note dont try and make your friends BBs cool like your own let them figure it out on their own lol

Try this and see if it helps.

With the BB connected, open up command prompt. Change directories to where JL_Cmder is located (Should be something like C:\Program Files\JL_Cmder) and try running the following command: javaloader.exe -u wipe

See if that kicks back an error or if it wipes the device.

when i click jl_dmer on my computer nothing happens it just says "the specified path doesnt exist check path and try again"

That would explain why the command line executions are not working. Is JL_Cmder installed on your PC?

In the first link that JSanders gave you, step one says to download and install JL_Cmder. Once you downloaded it, did you double click on it to install it to your PC?

You're probably using Vista. This will work with XP.

yes im using vista but dont worry guys i got everything figured out last night before i went out of town. my friends bb is good and back from the dead. i will never try to do this stuff to my friends blackberries again i will let them figure it out on their own. for me on my bb everything goes pretty smoothly but my friends bbs is another story. and for future reference, JL_cmder needs to run under XP emulation on Vista.

Works fine under Vista Business for me without any emulation
