Default Internet - Virgin PAYG

Please Login to Remove!

I'm using a BlackBerry 7100v and I am on Virgin Pay as you Go, and using their unlimited internet for 20p/day deal.

They give instructions to find "Virgin GPRS" under "Host Routing Table" but the only thing listed is "*No Entries*"

I have used TCP with the following details:

APN: goto.virginmobile.uk
Username: user
Password: space but I still recieve the error "Cannot connect to your network" when attempting to surf with Opera Mini.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Thanks,

Chris

You will not have any entries in your Host Routing Table since Virgin does not offer BlackBerry data plans.

They allow a 30p a day internet on PAYG and Pay Monthly, and it has been posted on this forum about how to set it up and get it working, bbut my model is different to the other guides and dosn't work.

Virgin Mobile (uk) - Phone settings

You cannot use the blackberry/rim browser built in, but you can use Opera Mini or anyother 3rd party app

In understand that, but you still won't have any entries in your host routing table.

You probably need a proxy server on that APN, and BlackBerry has no way to set proxy servers.

Not necessarily. Are you using Virgin out of necessity or by choice?

If by choice, consider switching to a carrier that provides BlackBerry service.

If out of necessity, it's still not necessarily a waste. BlackBerry devices are some of the best devices for voice calls, and SMS is great with a full keyboard.

when i look at the settings for it, it says password is (none) i.e. leave blank.
also, when you click on the relevent thing, it comes up with "all done! now do this etc etc" as though if you could browse to that page on your phone, it would somehow inport settings, which would be the entries for the host routing table, which it then tells you to register.

also look here: http://www.blackberryforums.com/carr...n-refused.html

it seems the updating of the OS worked for this person, and it may indeed work for you.
