Default Solving 8300 MMS problem

Hey everybody:

I found that there were many members met MMS sending/receving problem on 8300. Actually, I was on the same boat with these people. However, after two days harding working, I solved this problem, and my cure is working very well now.

I am from China and My curve is Vodofone which brought from Hong Kong. I'm a corp BES user, the carrier is China Mobile. The OS was 4.2.181 which is from Vodafone too.

When I just get the curve, I found that it had no MMS function. Even there is a ‘MMS' item in 'option', when I was sending a MMS, it remind there was no 'MMS service record'. Also, at that time, I could not access the WAP homepage of China Mobile, and could not log on Gmail either.

Followings are the way how I fixed the problem.

I strongly suspect that the device blocked MMS function, because both my device and OS were from Vodafone. In the SB, many itesm were ticked, but only two were disallowed: MMS config and CMCC Wap (CMCC means China Mobile) .The reason, I thought, was I had no Vodafone's data plan!

Fortunately, the OS was 4.2.181 when I get it, and I had a chance to upgrade it to 4.2.184 which was from Singtel. After upgrade done, two items mentioned above were ticked! MMS was start to work

But I still had a log-in problem in Gmail and Google Sync. I'm sure this was occured by the IT policy. I found a simple way to solve it and without bothering IT guys (my IT support is in Hong Kong). After installing two software wirelessly, pull out the sim card and replace by another one which also has data plane but not with BES. With new sim card, the device log in Gmail and Gogool Sync very smoothly! After logging in and sync the data, replace sim card back to the one with BES. I found both Gmail and Gogool Sync were still working!!!

I hope above solusions are useful for members who are bothering by the same problem. BTWxxx65292; the curve is really cool, I love it, and hope you enjoy it too!
