I just did a fresh install of .424 and I'm noticing that the icon for BB Maps isn't appearing anywhere on my phone. Even when I have the icons set to show all, and look at the applications folder.

When I go to Device>Application Management it's showing up as being installed, as well as when I connect to Desktop manager and check for installed applications, however I can't seem to find a way to access it. Am I missing something simple?

I did a thorough search and nothing that I saw seems to match the issue that I'm having.

I 'thought' that I knew my way around BB's fairly well, although I'm still getting a feel for the subtle differences that OS 6.0 has.

AT&T block BB Maps because they want you to use the paid software they provide.

There was, at one time a work around to get the service book to stay and not disappear, but I've no idea if it will still work.

Thanks for the feedback Draven. I was beginning to come to that conclusion since I noticed the AT&T maps icon.

I use Google Maps as standard fare, but I found an app from AT&T called "Mark the Spot", where you can report network issues/dropped calls and whatnot directly to AT&T. Problem is that it requires BB Maps to be installed.

To me, seems to be a conflict of interests.. They block BB Maps to force you to use ATT Navigator, yet they release an app that requires the use of the first.

I don't think you need BBMaps for that - just a GPS location.

It doesn't seem to want to emulate map data without BB Maps. On the report screen, I can see my location in regards to lat/long, however it's just a red X with my location marker.

Unfortunately that link points to a link for BB's using Os 4.2<

I'm past it. Having the map view isn't that huge of a deal if I can't figure a work around with BB maps. I just thought that it was cool to find an app where I can report network issues to AT&T. (which I tend to have a lot of in my area.)

As mentioned, whenever I really need to find someplace, I just use Google Maps.

Yes, but that link installs the "ribbon" file which (supposedly) enables the BBMaps launcher on AT&T devices.

Yeah, I found that ribbon file yesterday when I was trying to figure it out. For future reference (partly my own) it can be found at http://mobileapps.blackberry.com/dev...nload/servelet and the name is lbs_ribbon v 0.9

I still haven't figured out how this ribbon file applies. I downloaded it and got the message that it has been successfully installed and to return to the main screen to continue the process.. I go back and nothing happens.
