Default Fido UMA on Bold 9700

Has anyone had any luck getting UMA on the Bold 9700 to work with Fido?

I have an unbranded (RIM) 9700 and have tried the following with no success:

1) Install 5.0.0.862 firmware update. I expected this to give me the "Wifi Preferred" option but it did not appear after the update.
2) Obtained a ca.rogers.com cert and set mobile network engineering screens/utilities/session manager>UMA options as follows:
Display name: Factory Provisioning
Operator name:
UMA protocol version UMA v. 1.0.4
Provisioning UNC address: hbsc.uma.rogers.com
Provisioning UNC port: 14001
Provisioning SEGW address: segw.uma.rogers.com
SEGW certificate: ca.rogers.com
source: ca.rogers.com - apnaguy dot com

After Step 2, the "Wifi-preferred" option appeared but I still could not access UMA.

My assumption is since Rogers owns Fido and they share the network, they would share the same UMA settings and infrastructure.

Does anyone know if the cert/settings are different between fido and rogers?
Does anyone have Fido UMA service (UNO) who can let me know what cert they are using?

Thanks in advance.

I can't answer any of your questions/concerns wrt Fido, etc., but in reading various posts on 5 different BB messageboards, I am starting to see a pattern.

Only Rogers-branded 9700's that are running on the Rogers network that are installing .862 are the only ones getting UMA. Any other combination of branded and unbranded phones, or carriers (e.g. T-Mo 9700 on Rogers, or Rogers 9700 on T-Mo, or unbranded 9700 on Rogers), are not getting UMA.

That does not include those using engineering screen tweaks, Rogers UMA certificates, and so on -- plus those are independent of OS .862 anyways.

If there is any truth to that pattern (not saying it is or isn't), then in your case I might guess it's the unbranded 9700 running on Rogers scenario, which might be the reason for no UMA on Fido.

Good luck, hope you figure it out.

As an aside -- I always wanted an unbranded BB OR a BB from another network (T-Mo, AT&T etc.), I thought it'd be cool... but in this one instance, I'm glad I got a Rogers 9700.
