Unhappy Help with Blackberry Pearl 8100

Please Login to Remove!

Okay so I got a new blackberry but there are a few problems with it...

#1. I can't get internet on it... there is no application button in the do more area but when I look in settings it has all these settings with browser... I really would like to know how to get internet on my phone.

#2. I can't get my BBM to work... I've tried to with my friends phone and we still couldn't get it to work. We both sent requests but never received them.

#3. I have no clue how to get music and photos on my phone. I tried hooking it up to my computer but it doesn't want to sync. Am I suppose to have a disc for it or something?

#4. I cant get my bluetooth to work either. I tried sending photos and receiving them on my phone and it keeps saying it doesn't work...

PLEASE HELP ME!
I'M GOING CRAZY!
Thanks.

Welcome to the forums!

Do you have a BlackBerry data package on your account with your carrier?

I have a Pearl 8100 and have ATT. My package is called Blackberry Personal and is 30 dollars a month. This is unlimited internet and downloads, etc. Yours may be a little different though. I would call your provider.

3. The 8100 has little built in memory so i would suggest getting a card for it. To transfer music, apps, etc. to your phone you must have blackberry desktop software. The forum won't let me post the link but go to blackberry.com, then software, then desktop software.

Don't know about number 4

I recently upgraded my Pearl to the Curve. I'm so glad I did but anyway, I still have my Pearl and I'm trying to decide if I should list it one ebay. I want to sell it but not sure which route is going to be best.

Please do not hijack the thread. What you are asking is not at all relevant to this discussion.

1. You need a BB data plan as ndub33 said.

2. Same with BBM.

3. As for transferring, I would use Desktop Manager with Media Manager to transfer ringtones, music and photos to a micro SD card. Internal memory is very limited and the device is prone to memory leaks and results in deleted call logs, TMs and email.

4. If you have OS 4.1, BT is voice only. With OS 4.2 and above, you can use BT for data, although I don't think that it is that easy.

Do you allow in the BB to be used as a Storage Device? I believe that is allowed when you have a microSD in the BB... get one...

I had problems also transferring data through BT... when receiving on the BB, go to Media and press the Menu button (the one with the BB logo) and select "Receive using Bluetooth" or something like that... have my BB disassembled right now so I can exactly put the options name... btw, are the two devices already paired?

hope this helps...

Cheers!
