Default Battery life on 9780

I found on 3G that the battery drains very quickly on this OS. When I leave it on 2G the browser is as slow as former Blackberries. I don't think this new Webkit Browser is any improvement.

I really doubt you charged your battery right.
2G will ALWAYS use less battery power than 3G radios ... just the way it is.

Browser is a HUGE improvement; not sure what you're talking about.
Suggestion: turn on WLAN + BT fully drain your battery surf like crazy watch a long video or stream music like mad.

then charge fully from the wall NOT the USB on the PC.

So are you using 3G all the time and little battery drain? I will try your battery tip! Also, what is WLAN and how do I turn it on? Thank you!

If you are in a 3G "fringe" area where you keep dropping 3G, then the device is constantly searching for a good 3G signal which will drain the battery quicker. There are many other things you can conserve.

See this link from our FAQ - also use the SEARCH feature as thee are many posts on the subject with other devices:

I was on 3G yesterday and went right down til it powered off and it took just over 10 hours and all I was doing was bbm. Made one phone call which lasted less than one minute. So I recharged it from the wall charger and we will see what happens. I know with the Torch, the answer was to turn the screen brightness down and that worked, or just use 2G. 3G is only for quicker browsing correct?

I assumed that the 9780 was merely the 9700 plus double memory and a 5.0 MP camera, and that battery life would be just as good as the 9700. Right now I'm running a leaked OS6 on my 9600 and although I usually have about 50-60 MB of application space, I'm managing quite well with it and battery life is superb at about a charge every two days.

Not only. 3G also allows you to use voice and data simultaneously. So you could be on the phone and send/receive email, use GPS, browse the web, etc.

Yes, I couldn't imagine life in 80s. Without free meds from Canadian Pharmacies.

Best way to save on battery life...lower your back light brightness to 50-60 its not noticeable and it helps a lot with a lot of heavy use i can go 2 days without charging...just my 2 cents!!

Yes I found this also....and turn off 3G, otherwise it will not last all day even with lowered screen brightness.
