Dawg,

Thanks for the input. Do I hold the power button down as I am taking out the battery or after I take the battery out?

First, It finally fired up.

Here is what it says,

Uncaught Exception Process
NET_RIM_BB_PHONE_APP(48) KILLED DUE TO MESSAGE QUEUE OVERFLOW

OK IS UNDER THAT.

So do I do a restore to my backup now?

Or do I shut it down and turn it back on to see how it does.

Do I dare take out the SIM card again?

I have cleaned out my web client.

Let me know

Well, upgraded my boss's phone and had just a couple glitches. Everything is the same as mine, same DM with SP1. Started the upgrade at about 4pm. At 5:30 it was just sitting there so we left everything hooked up and went home. When I came in at 7am the next morning it was still stuck on a blank screen. Unplugged it and removed battery, put it back in and replugged it in. It did come back on however his contacts etc. were all gone. Started up the DM and it said to reinstall the backup we had the OS upgrade do.

Installed the backup and everything came back except some of his 3rd party apps which we were able to reinstall. Not sure why he had difficulties and I didn't. Same exact phone, same OS, DM. I have a few more 3rd party apps than he does but I also have all the ones that he lost and I didn't lose anything.

Weird, just weird I tell ya!

Only issue I have come across is my extended battery does not last as long as before, and signal is not as strong. The 2 things that are important to me, but I am sure it will work out.

Since the advantages of better BT and being able to read your SIM phonebook.

My gbattery has been lasting longer and I now get service where I havent before. I dont care about the sim phonebook thing since it only works one way. If I could load my address book to the sim card it would be better.

Guess I'm missing something here but what is the big deal about the SIM card? What are you supposed to be able to do with it?

So is this just a way of transferring your address book from one phone to another?

Default Sim Card

Installed the new Handheld SW, works great.

But, how do you get your contacts onto the sim, when I switch to it there are no contacts there?

Do I need to put it into a 3 digit Nextel and copy contacts using a sim copier or phonebook manager?

Looking more into it now, I am using an extended battery for the device also and it is only lasting a day. I am trying new things, like keeping BT off while at work and what not.

Immediately after the upgrade, I find that my data up/down (upper right corner of 7520) is constanly on and hasn't stopped since. I don't use BBMessenger and can't seem to find a way to turn it off thinking that this proggie is what is causing the constant data flow. Although I am on unlimited data, I do see a significant lost in battery life as a result.

I just upgraded my blackberry... I haven really noticed much diffrence in terms of battery consumption or speed (If you think the 7520 is slow try a 7100t... ). How ever I did notice this:

My bluetooth headset (HBH-660) is consiterably louder. I prior to the upgrade I had to use the headset with the volume turned all the way up. Now, while set at the highest volume it hurts my ear a bit.

In the address book I there is an option to read from sim (This might have been here but just never noticed it).

The calc is a bit diffrent

I will edit this post as I find new features/bugs

I haven't noticed any difference in battery consumption between the two different os's since the upgrade.

I did however notice a difference in bluetooth usability... my plantronics m2500 never worked properly, now it does. Guess I have two headsets now to use

Have noticed some bugs with this release. My copy of Pocketday no longer seems to like to update its weather and I had to delete my entire message log and my phone log, could have been it just needed to be done, but the phone itself seems to sometimes stop and "think" now for about 15-20 seconds and it's really irritating.. Also have had the "New Voicemail" come on with no prior ringing...... This is while it's sitting in an area it always has 3-4 bars in... I have removed BBMessenger because it seemed to slow it down quite a bit and make it very network chatty...

Anyone else seeing these little annoyances?
