Angry 9550 Restarts periodically

Please Login to Remove!

Hello everyone, I have been combing through the forums and can't seem to find what I am looking for. I have a 9550 with Verizon and have had it since April roughly. In about October/November the phone began to restart on its own didn't do it often but it got bad in December. I did the clean swipe and loaded everything from scratch and nothing. I called Verizon and they sent me a replacement phone in January. The new phone did the same thing and then stopped for a few weeks. Now it has begun doing it again and it does it several times in a day. Once I got an unexpected error 5>=5 or something of that nature. I was not able to find anything on that either. The phone has just the default apps on it from the new load. I have no 3rd party apps on it. Does anyone have a solution or an idea of what I can do to fix this?? Thanks in advance!

I have read that sometimes the battery will move away from the connectors and cause this type of issue. The fix seems to be simply placing a piece of paper under the door to prevent the movement. Not sure if this is the issue but it will cost you nothing.

I have done that and nothing. Still does the restart. It's starting to definitely upset me more and more now.

You say above you did a "clean swipe and loaded everything from scratch". Was a new OS version included in this "swipe"?

Yes a new OS version was also included in this. I am wondering if it is something in the actual database. Does anyone know what an Uncaught Exception error 5<=5 is??

With that error, you could have an incompatible app, theme or ringtone, or a corrupted fie someplace. Really hard to determine exactly what causes it as it could be any number of things.

Use Google and search on "Uncaught Exception error 5<=5". I got a lot of hits.

I appreciate the input Dubdub. I will look into it. I may just have to delete everything off of my memory card and go from there. It's frustrating when your phone restarts every hour or so.

After looking into the suggested I still didn't find anything that is helping. I have deleted everything off the memory card and the phone is like default almost. It is still doing this dang restarting crap. Anyone else have any suggestions?
