Default 8530 Messaging question

Please Login to Remove!

When I send a txt message I do the following steps:

1. Click sms icon
2. click again to bring up "To:"
3. Type a few letters of persons name I'm txting
4. Click to select the persons name
5. Here is the issue: The default is asking me to select another contact instead of going straight to the msg window so I can start typing. I have to drop down and select "OK" first. Is there a way to skip this step? The 8330 didn't do this and it's a little annoying.

On the 8330 when you push sms twice, it goes straight to your contacts. You pick a person and start txting.

What was especially nice is that it would stay on the last person you txt'd. So with 3 quick clicks, you were ready to start txting.

It goes down to a second contact option in case you need to send it to more than one person. Just click delete and you go into the sms box so you can type.

The only other complaint I have is that you only see 3 lines of txt instead of the full screen message.

I don't know why that is happening to you, it does not happen to me. Could you show a screen shot so I have a better understanding?

That only works for emails. It doesn't work in the SMS screen.

yes. I'll take a pic of it when I have a chance. Lets say I send u a txt. Then when you reply, it shows 3 lines of your msg, then shows a black bar across screen with your number, then shows a one line window for me to type a reply in. It kinda resembles a chat program.

Just to be clear, my phone is a 8530 with v5.0.0.337 (Verizon)

I have my SMS and Message inboxes "separated".

It does for me. I'm thinking the difference is either that you have a 8530, but most likely the OS you are running compared to mine.

This is the way it is with Threaded SMS. This is in the OS. There's no way around it. It's that way on the 8330 when OS 5.0 is installed.

There is a "compose" folder that's hidden in the application folder. One click and it goes straight to the contacts. Very nice.
