Please Login to Remove!

Where can I get it?

CrackBerry.com Goes Hands-On with BlackBerry OS 4.3.1 | The Boy Genius Report

Feature List of OS 4.3.1:

* Upgraded, enriched e-mail formatting (in layman’s terms, HTML email support …with an asterisk)
* Face-lifted address book and contacts management (added fields for instant messaging handles, Activity Log search for detailed contact history, etc)
* DataViz Documents To Go (Word To Go confirmed in some capacity)
* Browser upgrade (crisp fonts and emails, new bookmarks entry point, Desktop and Cursor modes enabled by default, etc)
* *Video Recording enabled for legacy devices (holding my breath while patiently counting - 1, 2, pass out)
* Voice Notes recorder and clip management
* Wireless OS upgrades (again, with an asterisk)

You can't. It'll be another couple months most likely.

That site indicated that new BB8130's were shipping with OS v4.3 installed... Is that true? if so, wouldn't it be available for download?

I'd imagine the 4.3.0 for the 8130 will be available shortly. But that doesn't mean 4.3.1 for the other devices will be available right away.

You would trust the scum that you had to bribe to get it from?

I tried an early beta version of it on my 8320 but it was very buggy. No UMA either. I'm an OS freak, just like the rest, but let's just say I'm not running it on my 8320.

What won't be awesome is waiting for a T-Mobile sanctioned release of the new OS. folks will probably be running 4.4 by the time TMO gets around to releasing 4.3. Tossers.

Actually, I think a lot of carriers have incentive to release this early. I would take a guess to say that both AT&T and T-Mobile will have this released within a few weeks of being bug-free enough to be delivered. There's just too many features included. With the release of BES 4.1 SP5 coming in late February, I would say that all major carriers should have 4.3.0 (8120, 8130) and 4.3.1 (all other 8000 series devices) released by mid-February.

Welp, I'm willing to risk it. Someone wants to cough it up for the 8800 and send it to me if it's available, I'll give it a shot and see if it's worth the hype.

From my experiences, though, a beta OS is almost always exactly as insinuated here: beta quality. I had the 4.2.0 beta for the 8700 a ways back, and it was junk. The Media Player didn't work right, it froze and locked up all the time, and it was unbelievably slow. Uncaught exceptions were also EVERYWHERE with it.

See, that's the thing ... everyone always gets so pumped when a brand-new beta gets leaked, but it always seems to be the case that it's thrilling for a very short time, and then fizzles out like the brief candle when the error messages roll in.
