Default Pair BB BOLD to Range Rover SPORT 2009

Anybody done it? I'm pairing the devices fine, but can't transfer contacts. Annoying, as my wife's Sony Ericcsson did it well by itself on first pairing....

I have the same issue with a Discovery 3, phone works fine, phonebook does not sync at all, Land Rover site says it should, even lists my blackberry firmware.

Land Rover cannot make it work either... also have an Ericsson handset that works just fine so its not the car... can't find any answers on here.

Default Same on Alfa Brera

Exactly the same on the Alfa Brera. Except pairing is also random

Apparently down to push vs pull Bluetooth. The Bold is a push device while my old HTC and other BBs are pull ones (so I read).

To make them work, the bluetooth systems need firmware updates to handle this but I suspect most car manufacturers can't be bothered or don't care about older models.

Right, but I am talking about not exactly cheap brand new Range Rover! Don't you think the the target market for Range Rovers and Blackberry BOLDS is kinda the same?

And no, I can't blame this on the car, as I said before, my wife's 2 year old cheap Sony Ericcsson transferred contacts just fine on the first try, and now RR screen displays caller name when she's paired, and she can also use voice dialing built in the car. My BOLD - well, it calls all right but that's about it.

RIM, this is just stupid.

Is your BOLD set as discoverable in the Bluetooth options? Also check enabled profiles there and if "Contacts Transfer" is set to "All Entries"

My 8100 Pearl would synch up(name and numbers) just fine with my new(2008) Rover, but the LR will only display the numbers from my BB 8900. I have to get the names from my phonebook to dial someone Anyone have a cure?

Default Freelander 2

I have the same problem that I cannot transfer the contacts and only numbers appear not names. Also my bluetooth phone is awful and it is the Blackberry not the car as it works Ok with other phones. Any ideas re the handsfree?

Same problem here with a range rover 2008. Still I get to see the names but not accurately. I mean if I search I just see some of the names in my phone's contact list on the display. When I get an incoming call I see the name of the last person who called, not the one actually calling. Erjavec, I know how you feel, I love blackberry but this sucks.

Default Solution?

Did anyone ever figure this out? I can't get the phone book to sync. BB Bold pairs just fine with the bluetooth, but phone book displays only numbers. email me if you know how to fix this issue!! thanks.

New, even more annoying development: my wife bought BB 8900, and it synchs with Range Rover perfectly - contact names, everything. So the only phone not synching is my BOLD.

Default Range Rover BB 8900

As reported elsewhere here my range rover and BB will pair finr but it refuses to accept the contacts from my phone.

My range rover is 2007 and BB8900 and my previous BBcurve (8300?) would do exactly the same.

I see that someone here is reporting that a newer range rover is importing contacts from the 8900 so perhaps some form of firmware upgrade is needed for the range rover?

Also could it be a BES issue. My Blackberry uses a BES server perhaps this is affecting the sync in some way. Is your wide uisng BIS server for email?

Andrew

Default Solved

Latest OS update on BOLD, 4.6.0.301 (Platform 4.0.0.245) solved this problem. Contacts sync and show names on RR screen properly. Thanks RIM.
