What makes non-data plan users low-life skeezers is when they try to wheeze services that are data plan only. IMHO, they deserve a hard time.

Well everyone can't spend $100 a month on a cell plan "rambo" (really???!!). I'm not "wheezing" services. I use what I can with wi-fi, enjoy my phone and have a life. That's all that matters really. If it bothers you so much that everyone doesn't has the coveted BIS then take a deep breath and count to 10. It's NO BIG DEAL! Wow..... You look so friendly in your picture (Smiley) I'm surprised at your anger.
I paid the same amount as most people for my phone so I can use it how I see fit. I love the phone regardless of a data plan.

Sure, you can.
But what ticks some people off is when people without a data plan complain about why that can't do this or that with their phone without a data plan.
It doesn't make them bad people or even the awful things listed by rambo47, but it is a little bit annoying to hear those particular types of complaints.

And I agree with you completely M. M. I expect nothing from my phone that I don't pay for. I would like a data plan soon but will just enjoy the features I have until then. Thanks for the level head.

You can siphon the gas from your neighbor's car and then drive it to work. I am sure he won't mind

Wow!! When I joined this site I never expected so many people to be so smug and "holier than thou". I just expected friendly, helpful people willing to help and talk to people in the same phone community. Regardless of data plan or not. The above comments saying "amen" to rambo and the car/ gas sarcasm sure doesn't make this seem like such a welcoming community. I don't try to get anything for free from my Blackberry that's not paid for and expected. I have a call plan, messaging and have my wi-fi. If this doesn't make me "cool" on here then anyone with comments need to take a step back and look at your behavior towards us non-BIS people. Sorry for being so poor...... Man!!

You are the exception here for people who post and don't have data plans. The majority are people who do are trying to get something for nothing. That is what gets tiresome and frustrating for the regulars here. Don't take the remarks personally because they are not directed at you -- they are the result of scores or maybe hundreds of posts by people who are trying to use features and do what they are not paying for.

People are so impatient these days they won't read forums about this info before asking. I try to look up any apps etc I have questions about before I ask a stupid question. I am aware I won't ever have the full Blackberry experience without a data plan but, I like the phone and OS. I used Windows Mobile for over a year and prefer the Blackberry OS by far. That is another reason I have the phone without data. I am used to smart phones, full keyboards and business apps. Blackberry is my favorite.
It was hard not to think the comments were directed at me since my post started the conversation again. But thanks for the reassurance.

Sometimes I get a little carried away. Folks that buy a BlackBerry without a data plan, and know exactly what they're getting, have made a rational choice. More power to 'em! It's the skeezers that whine about not being able to use features without a plan, or whine about how unfair it is because they're clueless about the device they bought, gets tough to take. Too many of them bought an expensive BlackBerry because it's the latest Hollywood "bling". Most folks here are professionals and participate in the forums to help out other professionals with legit questions. These other folks waste everyone's time and really can chap my arse.

I have to agree 100%. If a users does not want a BlackBerry data plan I would honestly suggest a Windows Mobile device. The BlackBerry is built around a BlackBerry data plan.

Well, as you may know being a T-Mobile customer, the regular data plan is the same price as a Blackberry plan. Both $40. So, even with a Windows Mobile device you still pay the same. If you're stating that there may be more user friendly apps not requiring data on a Windows Mobile phone though, it's sort of correct. I had a Blackjack 2 for over a year and most apps for it resemble BB apps in the fact that you need data. Otherwise, I'm sure there are plenty of games and stuff that will work on it.
But, I had the same situation with Blackjack 2. No data meant a lot less apps. It will work though on pre-paid data plans like AT&T offers where the BB doesn't.
