Can't...take it...must...uprade...

OK I bit the bullet, I couldn't stand knowing there was an update I didn't have installed (even if it is a beta version!)

I think it's a little faster, or at least that's what I'll keep telling myself but it's worth it anway just knowing I have the newest OS; now I can sleep at night (with my bb under my pillow of course)

Question Help...

Hi All:

Last night I upgraded with no problems. However, I have not yet received a email refreshing my myfaves, browser or service books for my email.

I re-sent service books from T-Mobile BIS and I registered my handheld with the wireless network. I am receiving text messages fine but no email..

I have upgraded OS's many times and this is the first time I had this issue.

Any input would be greatly appreciated??

Thanks

I think T-Mobile BIS is having problems. When I upgraded on Friday evening, my browser service book was missing (a first for me), and logging onto the BIS website took a very, very long time with lots of "Processing, please wait" interim screens in the browser. I re-registered my device probably 5 times and resent my service books 3 or 4 times - email worked, but no browser. Finally I just said to hell with it and went out, when I woke up Saturday morning the service books had finally gotten to my device and it was working properly.

Like you, it was a first for me - I suspect some gremlins in the T-Mo infrastructure right now perhaps. My WAP was working 100% fine though during this problem, seems localized to BIS.

Plus there were two separate scheduled outages over the weekend...

Either one of those could have affected you, or even had lingering affects...

Same thing here and agree that it may be a BIS issue. I was having problems with the BIS website trying to refresh myfaves etc...

I may just wait a bit before re-installing.

I have noticed strange activity in the past few days and it may be related to the scheduled maintenance. For some reason, most people who call me using tmobile show up as "unknown number" instead of their actual number. Sometimes they cant get through to me at all and we both have full coverage in the same room. Hopefully these issues will clear up within the next few days.

The scheduled maintenance on the RIM network would have no effect on your signal coverage, voice plan and besides, it is over with now, only four hours early early Sunday morning and a few minutes Saturday morning.

Well then I don't have any clue as to why incoming calls from tmobile numbers are showing up as "unknown" when my voicemail recognizes them. I've done battery pulls, resent service book, HRT register. I may have to wipe and reload the OS... Just strange

I have NO coverage issues here. In fact, everything but receiving my service books are working fine...

Thanks JS - I'm sure that what was happening to me, as my timing was way too close to their timing for it to have been a coincidence. They probably started the prep work earlier (who wouldn't?) which I ran headlong into during my upgrade.

Anyone else use Maratick for a todo list type app? Before using this app .93 was working ok but then after loading it it seems to crash a lot. Was wondering if anyone else had the same issue.

I loaded .93 on my 8320 last night while I was doing some work. After the update was done, everything was good. Then I realized I had not gone in and deleted some of the modules in the Java folder and then it hit me...I had not deleted the vendor.xml file (rookie mistake), but the update went through with no problems. ???

That's because its a beta operating system, not a vendor-released one. I think vendor.xml is there on a beta, but its virtually empty.

I'm still having issues with this build. Mostly with incoming calls not coming through, or showing as a blocked number. I also had an issue where my phone would not stop vibrating and the led blinking continuously. I'm going to downgrade to .81

I've noticed a new browser bug with this release. I've only seen it on one web site so far, but it's one that I go to frequently. The site is: Chiff and Fipple Forums :: Index but it's a phpBB board. Normally, the forums with unread messages would appear in an orange color. With this release, they don't. The forum icons display as white, whether or not there are new messages. On my desktop machine, using Firefox, they display normally.

Did the threads show up as normal on your previous OS?

Not here, starts recording right away as normal.

One thing I did notice after upgrading was that assigned ringtones lost the people who they were assigned to. Also my ringtones and my videos do not show up under those categories (My Ringtones/My Videos) but show up under "All Ringtones/Videos". No biggie since they're still there.
