Default Opera browser, should I install?

Please Login to Remove!

I have an 8310. Should I install the Opera browser? What's the benefit of it vs the existing BB browser? And is the install/setup simple?

thanks

Hi

You could install it to see if you like it, some people prefer it.

You need to enter your carriers APN setting at options> advanced options> TCP.

Download OTA from miniopera.com

I vote opera, based on the fact that I can do my banking online, which can not be done with the BB Browser.

Are you trying to download 4.1? Try an earlier version to see if will install! The link should be on the operamini page to download earlier versions, its worth a try.

Unfortunately there is only Opera Mini available at the present time.

ok, I've taken advice posted here and am trying it. Suprisingly given the promotions, it actually seems slower than the BB browser. I do like some of the features, but am uncertain about the small viewing window that you need to click on to view anything on the page. Is there a way in settings to change the way the page is viewed to make more like a traditional browser?

Finally was able to get 3.0, then was able to d/l 4.1. My problem now is how do I use it? I can see no real difference in Opera and BB browser.

Gave up on it. Didn't see much difference from the BB browser, but a little slower.

OperaMini is way faster opening pages than BB browser. But, some apps will not d/l over Opera so I keep both on the HH. Also, SkyFire has already sent me invite messages to try their beta on WM devices. I requested an invite when the BB beta was available but their not done with it yet.

Regarding speed, you can go into settings and check the connection type. If it's set to http, you can try socket. If socket works it will be faster.

You can also press 1 while on a Web page, then turn on Mobile View to get rid of the little zoom window.
