I heard my phone vibrate and there's a "new text message" icon. However, the actual message is not there, in the list, as if it never existed.

How do I retrieve the actual message then? I still got the icon and blinking LED.

PS. I know a thread like this probably exists but I couldn't find it in the search.

Sounds like you are having memory issues. Go to options then status and check your memory level. If its low the first thing to get deleted are messages.

Are you sure it is a text, and not another type message, i.e., mail or PIN or Messenger alert?

Ive had a problem like this before to where I synced my phone with my pc that had the wrong time. It changed the Time on the device and all my messages were at the bottom of the list. try scrolling down to see. If thats whats happening, update the time on the device and computer or else it will keep happening.

I doubt it because I'm getting text messages now and they are appearing.

It's the little yellow envelope, which I believe is only for texts.

Check and make sure you dont have your messages icon hidden. That happened to me once, and it took me hours to figure out that it was a message that went into that folder. Just check your 'show all' on your main page on your bb. Then check the messages folder. I'm wondering if your hidden message is there like mine was.

Another place that I found a "phantom" message, was my saved messages folder.

Thanks guys. I found the secret text in my "MMS Inbox" but at the time I received the message, the picture didn't send (so I did the "retrieve now").

I can now sleep at night.

The icon for my text msgs just dissapeared. I know I am getting them but I cant get them there is no Icon. Per above.."learner" (thats me) I dont know where to check show all
