Like a virgin.

I love the 8900 way more than any other BB I had before.
I can hardly find something I don't like except the missing 3G, but most time I don't care actually.

To me, leaving out 3G is a plus - simpler device, longer battery life, no handover problems etc.

At the same point after the European launch of Bold and Storm, BB Forums was full of querulous users who had expected their new BB to just work, and it didn't.

With 8900 - so far - all is quiet. The software is stable (no leaked betas!), and users expecting a slinkier Curve with a few bells and whistles found that is exactly what they got.

Gentle evolution... could be the way to go.

Ye true... but the bold HAS an impressive battery live although it uses 3G. But we'll see what the Curve will do in 3-4 months with newer Firmware updates.

I don't need 3G that is why I am so happy with my device.

The only reason why I would want 3G is for the data and voice at once. Other then that, from the bolds I have played with, the internet wasnt all that much faster compared to the 8900

I am patiently waiting for the 8900 but was wondering what the OP and "the girls house" had to do with the battery life?

That is good to hear. If the speaker does ending up being bad, that could be a breaking point for me, my bb8320 speaker is okay, but, I wouldn't mind if it was louder. I like BT, but I also like using speakerphone to talk most of the time.

I love my phone.. Its the best BB Ive ever had. I had the 7290 the 8700 and 8320 and everytime BB keeps getting better and better.

There are 4 things I don't like....

1. The speaker isnt as loud as my 8320

2. The vibrate isnt that strong

3. The mini usb. Like everyone else I had a million sync cables and chargers now I have one.

4. The charging/power mini usb port is the side of the phone close to the bottom. Why would they put it so close to the bottom the phone? Its almost unusable because the placement of the charging/sync port. That pissed me off more than the other issues.

Other than that like I stated earlier I love my phone!

Not hard if you push the buttons slightly off center.

Same here.

I also don't like that it's hard to type on the 8900 with the cable plugged in, whereas with the 8300 Curves the plug was towards the top of the device.

I got number 8 of 10 at the T-Mobile store this morning in Santa Monica. I'm surprised they didn't get more in for the launch. A couple people behind me missed out and were pissed.

They also had the Gel skins and the Speck Holster-Pro; perfect for me because I love that Holster-Pro and had written them 2 days ago asking about one for the 8900, to which they replied their engineers were "looking into it".

The build of the 8900 is definitely much nicer than the 8320 was. The screen is very crisp and clear. I find the new wireframe icons a bit difficult to digest at first glance; switching back to the 8320 theme, the icons just pop out more and are easier to recognize.

I used the switch device wizard to swap everything over. So far it's working great/

Oh, and that camera is really good! Wow!

And the processor speed is very noticeable.

Edit: I forgot to say what i don't like.

I don't like the rocker button for the BB key and the Back key on the sides of the trackball.

Are you talking about the store on Wilshire and 4th?

My original plan was to get it there, but I didn't get up in time and I thought about going at lunch but didn't bother. I ended up going through Amazon for $100 less. Glad I didn't go look or I would have been pissed! I even drove by as I was running an errand, and since there was no parking I didn't stop...

How do I set the left conv key to turn on BT so I have it in my car? I paired the car already.

Yup, that's the store. they only had 10 in stock at 9am this morning. They sold out while I was ringing up.

I love everything about it EXCEPT that they forgot to drill a couple of holes for a lanyard mount.

If you take the battery door off and then string the lanyard into the hole there is a little peg to hook the lanyard onto that will keep when you close the battery door. I have never tried the lanyard, but it looks like it would work.

Hmmm...I'll have to check that out! Thanks! My only concern would be that the battery door would pop off and my BB would go flying! If it works, I won't have to wait for a new form-fitting in-use case to come out for the 8900!

I think that what you really want to do is tie a knot in the lanyard after it is inserted, that little plastic post is going to break off quick. If you can't tie the knot good then there is always tying something around the lanyard loop. Point is there is a lot of room in there for something so it won't slip back through the hole.
