Default Bold 9790 problems

Please Login to Remove!

Got a new Bold 9790 today on Virgin mobile, 2 problems with it.

First being that when I try and connect my email to it, it's saying that there is no service connection. Further to that I can only find 'enterprise activation' which I thought was different to personal use.

Second problem is that Blackberry protect won't work, saying it isn't part of my service plan when there's no reason for it not to be. The problem with having these two things causing problems is that it's stopping me from restoring BBM contacts etc. Any ideas?

Both email and blackberry protect require a blackberry data plan on your account.

Is that the same as the provider's plan which is inclusive of minutes, text and data? I've never had any problem of this sort with any Blackberry before, always been a case that it works straight away

If you have changed blackberry devices you will need to change the PIN on the account to match the new device.

Generally it is NOT the same as a provider's plan. The plan has to specifically include BlackBerry BIS. It's included with Sprint's Everything plans, but for most carriers it's a bolt-on option.
