Default getting data OVERAGES every month! HELP!!

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everyone,
I've been having this problem with my less than a year old BB torch. This is the second time that it's happened. BUt even when I am not touching the phone, it will rack up 40 MB of data at a time!!

At the beginning of this bill cycle, within the first few days, I had used up 180 MB and then I only found out when I recieved a text notifying me that I had used up 80% of my data. So I promptly turned Data services from ON to OFF under mobile network options. However this does limit my functionality of my BB!

So im wondering what the problem is. I do have a lot of Apps, namely Weather Channel, Bloomberg, Businessweek, HuffPost, CNN, but they are not even open!

When I click and hold the Menu button to see all open applications, none are open. Is it possbile they are still pushing Data ?

Is there a way to stop this?

My Browser Push is also NOT enabled so that is not the problem.

I would make a backup of your data, and then wipe the device, then restore your data. This will not backup your apps. Then see how things look. If they're better, then add one app back at a time and see how things go.

You must have apps running in the background. Apps such as Facebook, maps, etc. all can eat tons of data. Make sure you exit out and/or close from those programs when you finish using them.

Stop surfing so much and streaming video as well.

Hmm, do you use Slacker Radio or any other internet radio/music players? They use a lot of data, I've also used more than my monthly allowance on a few occasions.

I would go with jsconyers( the new guy) suggestion. Something is running in the background.
Also make sure the ATT map program is off. It uses the GPS.

Have you pulled the battery to reset the BB and see if it continues?
