Default Cannot receive SMS messages

I can send SMS but I cannot receive.

It's been about a week now. I have not changed any Message folder settings. However I did double check my settings to make sure that my SMS was enabled and is being sent to my Messages folder. I also went to folder options and checked my SMS inbox and there are no received messages.

I backed up my phone with desktop manager and then I wiped my phone using the security wipe under security options. And then I went back to desktop manager and reloaded my backup file. Still can't receive SMS.

I don't know what to do next.. I hope someone can share some insight. Thanks.

I am using the 9700 from Bell Mobility and my OS is V5.0.0.545

I figured it out. For some reason the firewall had SMS messages blocked. Makes no sense why that option would be all the sudden checked off but I guess my problem is resolved.

Good find.

Just in case others face your issue yet Firewall not being the issue:
1. Send yourself an SMS if it sends & not receives ... proceed.
2. Check Firewall settings as mentioned about.
3. Ensure your device - if in North America - is NOT set to send SMS outside if 7-bit setting. The other setting is set usually for other languages support elsewhere.
4. check with your provider to ensure SMS originating & terminating is enabled; if so have them toggle this and do a battery pull for 1min. Then once booted retry to send yourself an SMS; this should work; even if you have no SMS plan.
