What do most power users prefer, blackberry browser or opera mini?
I teach end user blackberry training and I always show the students opera mini, and they usually have no clue that it exists. So, I am curious to see what most people on this forum prefer.

I prefer the mini when its not causing me to do battery pulls. As Wap sites increase, my response may change.

I use both because I like to have multiple browsers open simultaneously (like tabs is FireFox). Can't do that on the BB unless you use multiple browsers.

Does anyone get concerned with security on mini going through someone elses server.

This is the main reason I use BB Browser most of the time. I do use Opera for the occasional page that just doesnt quite show up right on BB Browser, but not often.

Both. But would use Opera Mini more if you could open it direct from email hyperlinks.

Also prefer Mini when roaming, saves data charges. Security not an issue, wouldn't use BB to check bank accounts etc. anyway.

I use Opera Mini when I want to look at sites like online forums or photo sites, but anytime I want to read ESPN I always use the BB Browser.. I just find that it's easier than having to zoom/scroll/click/zoom/scroll/click like you have to do in OM just to read a story.

Why don't you just go to Settings | Web Pages and check Mobile view?

I've only had Opera Mini for a short while now, what does that change? Just to keep me from always having to zoom? That would be nice

I use the BB browser. Opera Mini has you go to another screen just to imput text. I have a 8130 Pearl 2 and the browser might be better than some earlier BB's.

Try it! Suggest you check full screen mode at the same time.

I've used Opera Mini a little, and didn't see thst it was a huge improvement over the BB browser in terms of navigation or display. But that's just me...

Sounds like it might just be me, but I really don't even like Opera Mini. I have installed it several times when they have come out with new versions, just to see if I like it any more than last time, and still the same.

BB Browser is the only one I have installed. I won't even install OM anymore.

Wing,
I agreed with you until this latest version came out.

Have you tried it?
