Have you tried other attachments? Are these attachments from the same folder on the memory card. Do you have the same issue sending attachments from other folders or device memory?

Options -> Advanced options -> Applications, loo for BlackBerry Attachment Service.
If it's not there plug your BB into your computer and run the app loader from the desktop manager and install it from there. (you will need to install your device OS on your computer)
Does it only do it with pictures or any attachment?

Just think about how far BlackBerries have come from then till now... And what else is coming.
The problem ended up being I had too many emails saved and not enough memory to send an attachment --- according to Verizon. I cleaned it up (reluctantly) and now all is well. Thanks all!!!!
