What is the fastest way to view contact list?
Please Login to Remove!
I just got a couple new phones. I got an iPhone 3GS and I got a BB Bold for my wife. I must say that my wife and I are a little frustrated with getting to the contact list on the BB Bold. Intuitively, I would think that clicking the "Contacts" icon would bring up the list like all the other phones that I have used. However, it doesn't seem to bring up the list that way. As an iPhone user, all I have to do is touch the contacts icon and my list pops up. Please tell me it is just that easy on the BB Bold.
Can someone tell me the fastest way to view the contact list?
I know that a lot of folks love the Blackberry so I know it must be easy to navigate.

First off I would like to comment, that yes pressing the contacts icon on blackberry brings you to the contacts.
To be able to better answer your question I need more info.
What is it doing when you hit contacts?
Have you tried to pull the battery out and reset the phone?
What have you tried?
Hopfully after receiving more info I can better help.

After clicking on Contacts, click on the menu button, then click on Filters. Make sure neither of the check boxes on the next screen are filled. If either is, that could be the problem.

I removed and replaced the battery and everything works fine now.
Does this happen often? I have read in previous posts that a lot of people reset their Bolds quite often.

If you turn of dial from home screen (phone, options, general options), you can get to the contact list by touching the a key.

Or set one of your convenience keys to open the Address Book if you wish.

Do like temoore said and disable the dial from home screen option. Then accessing a contact is a simple as typing "A" + contact's name.

Ok, I would like to try that. How do I turn the dial off (by "dial" do you mean the trackball?) the home screen.
Please excuse my ignorance... I am an iphone user and I am just trying to help my wife with her BB Bold.

no, dial as in, you press the number keys to dial a number.
click the green call button, then press the menu button, then go to options.
select general options, go down to "dial from home screen:" and change to no by clicking the trackball, scrolling to no and clicking the tracball.
then press the escape button (left of the red end call button) and click the trackball on save.

Ah... dial means number keys. Duh! I should have known. I come the days when phones actually had dials. Since this is the first time I have ever seen a trackball on a phone I got a little thrown off.
Thanks!

Also by doing so, you (or should I say your wife) can take advantage of all the other keyboard shortcuts. Such as "B" for browser, "L" for calendar, "N" for messenger and so on ......
Betcha can't do that on ur iPhone. Lol
