Default Free Memory from Rogers

Please Login to Remove!

Did a quick search and didn't see anything so...

If you check out rogers.com/memorypromo, they're giving away a 1GB memory card to Pearl buyers. If you're eligible and haven't heard yet, go have a look.

Just registered on Rogers.

Says it'll take them 4-7 business days to reply via email if i'm eligible.

Worth a shot I guess....

I submitted my application a few days ago and I just got confirmation that Rogers will be shipping me the memory in 3 to 5 days even though I got my phone before the promotion started. Woo hoo!

Same, I got my Pearl a couple of days after its release and I am apparently eligible for the memory promo. I just got my confirmation email today. A spare would definitely not hurt at all.

Before calling Rogers ensure the following:

1. The Pearl IMEI # was purchased from an authorized Rogers dealer location and not from a third party including direct from the Manufacturer. The reason for this is due to the offer is from Rogers, not from RIM.

2. The device added to the account wasn't from a TOR (Transfer of responsibility) which means you weren't the original purchaser.

3. You're listed as the billing name (financially responsible) for the account which would be the same name listed on the invoice from the dealer or on the proof of activation if shipped from Rogers. If you're listed as an "authorized user" or just a "user" make sure the main account holder (billing name) fills out the form. If this is a corporate account then have the authorized user contact the company's local Telecom Rep (usually this is an I.T. Administrator) who will forward the request to Rogers BSG (Business Support Group) on behalf of the company for all Pearls purchased. If you're a listed authorized user for a corporate account you can also call *611 and request a BSG eform inquiry be submitted to your BSG Account Rep.

4. You didn't recently report your device as LOS (Lost or Stolen).

I purchased the Pearl from a Rogers Plus store. I'm assuming they are an authorized dealer. I've seen those stores in pretty much every mall in Toronto area.

The other 3 conditions i'm A-OK with. I'll call Rogers tonight maybe and see what's the word.

Called CS up and lets just say that was a complete waste of time.

He told me to wait for another week and call them back. At which time they can further look into it.

Looks like i'll be playing the waiting game....

I got mine in the mail. Funny, it didn't come in any package and included an SD card adapter. And it had 2 copies of a Bare Naked Ladies video and 4 other misc mp3s on it. These files were in the root of the card and weren't visible on the BB but could be accessed from the BB desktop Media Manager program.

Did I get a used card? or is this some kind of promotion?

So I guess the Pearl can play .mov files.

Knowing Rogers, I'd guess you got a used card. No big deal I suppose since it's just a memory card. But I find Canadian cell companies all have zero qualms about sending out used gear (which I think is kinda crappy).
