Unhappy Random Backlight?

Please Login to Remove!

My storm's screen lights up randomly, no new messages or phone calls to display. Or after the screen has shut off, it will come back on, but dim. Any suggestions? Is it a common problem?

Did you check your "blacklight time out" setting under "Option>>Screen/keyboard"?

Ahh ok, it's not a huge deal. It just drains my battery a bit. Thanks for your help

Default Automatically Dim Backlight

I believe the "Automatically Dim Backlight" setting under Options control whether this happens or not? I have mine set to Off, and the backlight only dims out at the timeout point, and goes to black.

Wouldn't it make more sense to get brighter in a brighter environment and dim in a darker environment?

Regardless, it's as though there are 2 levels of brightness that mine uses. Sometimes it's flashlight bright (blinding), sometimes it's "normal" bright (I've set mine to 10), and then of course there's when the backlight turns off.

I've seen mine cycle between "flashlight" bright and "normal" bright while being actively used and the lighting conditions remaining the same.

I have experience the op's deal with mine as well. I know all about the auto sensor. But its more like it comes on from dead off at 30 -45 second intervals. Then dims. Then goes off. Then pops back up! It's annoying when I'm driving at night. I think that turning off the auto dim might fix it, but I wish I didn't have too.
