We have two mailboxes that you can't access via BB Manager and they are not getting mail to the handhelds. When you try to see the properties of the mailbox within BB MGR it says "Unable to access the mailbox for this user."
Is this a corrupt SQL database? If so, how do I go about repairing it?
thanks!
Brian
My first guess would be that the BESAdmin account doesn't have access to the users mailbox. On a workstation, try creating an Outlook profile for the user an use the BES credentials to open it. If that doesn't work look around for missing permissions.
If it does work, then maybe it's a communications problem between the BES and that Exchange server? Any other users on that server that work?
use the iemstest utility located in the tools folder of the BES media ... view the command line usage but this utility will validate if the permissions are set correctly for the Exchange server that is holding the user mailboxes.
Sorry for not giving all info. All other BB users work on the BES, same BES, same Exchange box. The same admin ID that is added to the working ones is added to the non-working ones. I suppose they could have some form of corrupted mailboxes? The two mailboxes are working 100% from an Outlook perspective, but Blackberry won't see them/access them. We removed one of the two mailboxes form the BES, and were going to add it back, thinking that might fix it, but no go. It removed it but now won't add it back - same basic error message: "Failed to add <username> to the Blackberry Server. Unable to open mailbox for user. The user's mailbox may have been deleted." But like I said, the mailbox is working fine, and everything I can see from AD and Exch. Sys Mgr looks fine, too.
I just ran the IEMSTEST utility (thanks for that) and it came up good on both user's mailboxes, so the rights are fine. I'm guessing this is related to the SQL database then?
could someone forward me the dbclean utility
I have the exact same error as described above
have migrated users from exchange 5.5 to 2003 and some are working fine on BES whilst others are not opening
think the dbclean could sort it
I too am having this same problem with only one mailbox. itemstest validates everything just fine and I have dbclean downloaded. The question is, how do I use dbclean to fix this?

From a command prompt at the user's desktop run DBClean.
