BB 8700 and Google Sync Occurence Issues

Was wanting to try Google Sync for it's OTA feature. But I am having problems with syncing occurences between Google Cal and handheld. Latest example is I added an event with a weekly occurence starting on 12 March today on my handheld. When I synced it was moved to start on wed the 11th and every week after that even though the event info on Google Cal said Thursday. Other items with occurences have also been unreliable. I did note it seems that a repeat now has no end date unlike the advertised 365 day limit.
It also seems the only way you can delete and occurence on the handheld is from Google Cal. Repeating events put on the handheld always show with no occurence.
Is this app reliable on all bb's and have I missed something in the settings that may be causing this.
