i have been reading everything and everyones response on voice dialing but my girlfriend is japanese and her name is japanese. The phone will not recognize her name.
Is there a way to voicecall a number with the speed dial number and not the whole number??

Not that I know of, but I would try pronouncing the name as the machine would, i.e., for say, Namiko, instead of Nah-mee-koh try Nah-my-kow. Just a thought...

Or instead of her name, a pet name perhaps...

Try different pronunciations, even ones obviously incorrect. For example, the wife's name is Jan, but the only way voicedialing will recognize it is like "john". A "pet name" probably would work the best - see if it will recognize "the old ball and chain. . ."

I think that assigning a nickname is the way to go. You said she was your gf so why not just put her in there as "girlfriend" or somehting along those lines.

Voicedial won't recognize "call 611" on my Pearl. Never had that problem on my old Mot using the same Voice software. Also the pearl does currently support "call redial". This is a useful option for me. Hope they add that in the future.

haha old ball and chain is kind of long... but! the pet name is a great idea and now it work's perfectly! thanks for the ideas everyone
