Default Effed Up Curve

Please Login to Remove!

This is a freaking great day. I think i accidentally just killed my curve. I wanted to clean the dust out so i watched the tutorial. Everything went well except one side wouldnt come off so i kinda forced it. When everything was off i looked over the phone to see if anything was messed up. Well i noticed that the side i forced out, the clip also bent out the silver lcd lining. I couldnt put it back on so i clipped the metal and had to go it to the housing. I put everything back on, and bam, theres like a millimeter wide space on the left. I opened it up again and i noticed the silver frame that surrounds the lcd is just ruined, its all bent up etc. What exactly do i do now????!!! I checked all the websites, they only sell LCD's but not the LCD aluminum lining. UGH!

Try this: AS-IS BlackBerry Curve 8310 Titanium Phone for AT&T - eBay (item 380018202817 end time Apr-22-08 16:20:14 PDT)

Or this:
Blackberry 8310 Curve Titanium GPS at&t 2MP MP3 AS I - eBay (item 230243734258 end time Apr-23-08 18:07:14 PDT)

Or this:
AS-IS Blackberry Curve 8300 GSM Cell phone for AT&T - eBay (item 320241769991 end time Apr-25-08 16:23:58 PDT)

I love ebay. Get the AS-IS one, and replace the lcd thingy with the one from the device that is messed up. Cheap way to fix it, but probably not ideal.

does it actually work? From what you described above it is merely cosmetic. I feel for you.
If it works, just grab one of the ebay specials and deal with the f'ed up one for a week.

painful though.

im not even sure. i was going to do that when suddenly one of the screws in the back snapped in half WHILE i was screwing it in. So now the front face plate is worthless. This just blows my life.

Wirelessly posted

The metal around the LCD is the earpiece speaker, I think its available from a few places. And you can get faceplates as well. I don't understand why you needed to take the phone apart after 1 week,

could you point me to the direction on where to get the earpiece speaker. I took it apart because the dust was getting unbearable. I bought the phone used and i was told that it would have scratches which is understandable but the seller forgot to tell me that like half the screen was covered in dust.

but anyways, i put the phone back together. everything is functional except, like you said, the ear piece. i could hear them though if i put it on speaker phone, i would still prefer to get this fixed asap. Thanks!

ok new problem. well the two screws on the back below the battery cover broke off. so i cant take the front off. Does this mean if i do decide to get it fixed i should just rip off the front?

why were you cleaning it if it was 1 week old, their shouldn't be that much dust under the lcd after that time.

BlackBerry Repair Shop - A full line of RIM BlackBerry repair services and BlackBerry parts for all BlackBerry handheld devices

that site would repair it but the price is just crazy. Im looking to change the housing also. If i order from them they would charge me roughly 180 to get the housing and the lcd thing fixed. that seems a bit unreasonable. does anyone know where i can buy the lcd frame separately?

Some people are not meant to even hold a tool in their hand. You must have discovered this prior to taking apart your Blackberry. yes?

Sorry but you got to not do this again.

The parts URL in the previous post is as good as it gets. These parts are not cheap.

Sorry about my post but it seems everything that could go wrong, did!
