Default 4.5.0.42 / 8820 Media Card Issues

Please Login to Remove!

I'm having an issue on my 8820 with 4.5.0.42 and my media card. I have an 8GB card that was formatted to 4G under 4.2.x, then 8G under 4.5.0.18. Now, under 4.5.0.42, it seems to be unable to recognize the card, nor is it able to format it. Inserts say its invalid, formats say they fail.

Has anyone else run into media card-related issues?

I found my own fix.. Battery pull and deleting the .dat files seems to have cleared it up. One thing I do like about the 4.5.0.42 is restoration of the Bluetooth stereo headset profile, so now I can use my stereo headset with the media player again!

Where are the ".dat" files located. I do not see them on my media card when connected to the pc.

They're located in directories with media scanned by the handheld. They (seem) are related to the database of media built by the handheld. Why it would interfere with the format is beyond me though.

The .dat files should be hidden, while on the folder, click on Tools > Folder Options > View > Show hidden files and folders
