This is an option you can toggle on and off. While in the Messages Inbox, press the Berry key (left of trackball). Choose Options | General Options, then scroll down a fair ways. You'll find 'SMS and Email Inboxes:' and get a choice of Combined, Separate, or Theme Controlled.
