Actually, I can do with the old version that worked. If anyone knows where I can download the previous version, I'll be happy with that. It worked just fine for what its used for. Even if someone has the file to load using desktop manager or download over the air, could you please post it for everyone that downloaded the new version and are screwed.
Guess that's what I get for tryin to always have the latest and greatest things, lol.

Same traffic
Hi Folks,
New to the list. I've got a curve as well and I can't get YIM to work. I'll be back again looking for the service books.
Ciao,
Jessica

I did a switch device wizzard OTA backup a while back (see the FAQ) - looked in the files and YM is not there. So its not there for people to find the old version.

i believe if you want the old version and you have a 8320, all you have to do is connected your BB to DM and then app loader, and it will not recognize the upgrade and will want to downgrade back to 1.0.95 yahoo. anyone know how to get the current modules of the new yahoo on the comp, so i am not prompted to do this everytime? i want to add a theme and i can't without deleting yahoo...kinda frustrating...what do i do?

Well, as someone who had an extremely difficult time getting the service books for the AIM and MSN messengers for my 8300, I suppose it is time to return the favor. As someone stated before, it's still called BBFS2, but perhaps they changed it internally. In any case, have fun and good luck
p.s.
Sorry, I had such a rough time getting everything right on mine, that I put all my Service Books in this .ipd so just delete the extra ones
edit: I removed the Service Book attachment since Spencer made a much better one. You can find it in the 1st post of this thread.

Thanks!
Hi Folks,
Thanks so much for that new service book. It worked great on my first try.
I'm on AT&T and I can only imagine that they disabled YIM to force folks to buy an SMS package. Being a bit paranoid, is there any way I can confirm that this new YIM is -not- routing chats thru SMS? I'd hate to get hooked on using it only to find that at the end of the month I have 4323 SMS messages at 15 cents a pop!
Thanks,
Jessica

I have that on my BB BBFS2 and it doesn't work for me. Must be a newer version of it. What's it say when you open it from the BB.

Hi Folks,
When you install the new service book, if you go into profiles before you reboot your device you are able to see the previous user's email address. This seems to disappear once you reboot. I'm only posting this here because I'm not sure what other personal information might be tucked away in a service book and I thought you all might want to know before posting others in public forums.
Eric, sorry to post this here, but I lost your email when I rebooted my BB and was unable to write you directly.

Because I am on BES and BIS, it will not let me add the Service Book. Can anyone send me or direct me to a download of the OLD VERSION OF YAHOO MESSENGER?

OK, i am on BES and BIS, and my service books were read-only. So I deleted the Service Book DESKTOP SYNC. Then with desktop manager I added the yahoo service book and yaho works! Great!
I then registered handheld through host routing table, then resent service books from BIS.
Everything appears to be working, but I am still missing the service book DESKTOP SYNC. How do I get that back? What does it do?

You'll need to regenerate your encryption keys via the Desktop Manager. It must be installed for BES usage, and it MUST MUST MUST be on the PC connected to your BES (i.e., your work email). You should also be connected to your work network when you regenerate.

I appreciate the heads-up, I actually deleted those service books before I did the back-up. hmm, lame.
Well, if anyone (hint: Spencer) wants to make a shiny-new backup of the service books from their phones with the books I posted (wow that's a confusing sentence) that would probably be the way to go, to avoid any further confusion.
