I just started using the 8320 and all the messaging services except AIM work great, BlackBerry Messenger, ICQ, Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo, and Google Talk.
When I select AOL Instant Messenger it gives me a sign on screen and everything. When I click sign on it pops up a dialogue box that reads xxx8220;Please visit
www.blackberry.com/aim to activate your handheld for AOL Instant Messenger.xxx8221;
I went to that site from my 8320 and followed the instructions and selected download. Then it says:
xxx8220;Notice
Sorry, your wireless Service Provider does not allow access to AOL Instant Messenger for your BlackBerry for your device.xxx8221;
What is the deal? If you have this device, are you able to use AIM successfully? Side note: this device has as blank poilcy and has NOT ever been on a BES, no only BIS.
Thanks!

EDIT (9/25/07): The curve is now available for device selection on my.t-mobile.com.
If you are having problems with your messaging clients not working please make sure you have logged into the site and changed your device to the 8320. After that resend your service books. Finally, take out the battery while the phone is still on and do a hard cycle (optional but reccomended).

EDIT (9/29/07): It's confirmed, 8320's built in messaging clients are only using data, NOT SMS.
