Default Software Config not showing application

Please Login to Remove!

I have searched high and low and cannot find anything to help with this. I have built a software configuration for a 3rd party app - when I go to add the application it does not appear, only the other 3rd party apps appear. This is what I have done so far:

*extracted the file to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Applications\foldername. Extracted files show JAD, COD, ALX - why jad? I tried removing the JAD files and still nothing.
*index'd and verified that the pkg and xml file were created.
*built sw cfg to \\servername\rim"
*it shows the other two apps that I have working but not the 3rd that I am trying to add.

Help is appreciated.

BES 4.1.4

It could be a faux pas on behalf of whoever created the ALX, or whoever extracted the files into the "foldername" directory. Check that the COD files referred to by the ALX actually exist, and are in the subdirectories below "foldername" that the ALX thinks that they are in.

The JAD files are probably there because whoever supplied the application has provided one set of files that can be loaded either OTA from the device or pushed from the BES?

take a look at the specification whatever .xml file that is generated. does it have all zero's in for values? what does the .alx look like? could be a problem there.

I freely admit I am not a developer nor do I pretend to even understand that realm - here is what the ALX file shows:

<loader version="1.0">
<application id="com.pyxisit.mPlatform">

<name>mPlatform</name>
<description>mPlatform</description>
<version>5.2.11.6</version>
<vendor>Pyxis Mobile, Inc.</vendor>
<copyright>Copyright (c) 2002-2007 Pyxis Mobile, Inc.</copyright>

<directory _blackberryVersion="[4.0.0,4.2.0)">4.0</directory>
<directory _blackberryVersion="[4.2.0,5.0.0)">4.2</directory>
<fileset Java="1.0" Colour="true">
<files>
mInstitutional.cod
mPlatform.cod
mPlatformUI.cod
</files>
</fileset>

</application>
</loader>

This is all the XML says:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
- <PackageDBCache version="1.0">
<packagedb hwid="0x00000000" size="0" />
</PackageDBCache>

Are the COD files in a directory or just in "foldername" along with the ALX?

The two "directory" entries in the ALX suggest that it's expecting files in subdirectories 4.0 and 4.2. Maybe when someone extracted a zip file they didn't extract with subdirectories intact (in which case you'll probably need to re-extract again) as (guessing) you may have one version of the COD files but not both there.

files are in sub directories - did not see that it was wanting two specifically named directories. I will try that and see - thanks.
