Default Trying to reset my 8830 or make it stop deleting messages

Please Login to Remove!

For some reason after 1 year. My BB 8830 has been deleting messages nightly at midnight i checked the settings and nothing has changed the settings still say keep all messages forever. I want to just reset everything back to factory settings....I cant find how to do this on the options menu...id rather not take it too verizon to get it swapped for a new one. Anyone know how to restore factory settings? Or better yet how to get my messages to stop deleting or why they would? I do backup my files to pc...is there a way to put them back on my BB?

Before wanting to wipe your device...
try this: How do I free up memory on my device? - BlackBerryFAQ

Check your device free memory by going to options > status > file free

If you want to wipe your device and are sure of it, you can do so by going to options > security options > general settings > hit menu key > wipe handheld > type blackberry.

***make sure you perform a backup before wiping because any and all information will be erased and everything in the device will be set to default (like new)***

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

To backup
Make sure desktop manager is installed to PC

Hook up wire from bb to PC

Click on Desktop Manager and you will find an option to backup

swapping your 8830 wont solve your problem, did you follow the link posted above? go to options > status and post your file free please. it should be at LEAST 10,000,000 bytes. I recommend at least 15,000,000. Do you have media stored to the device? Or lots of applications/themes installed?

Please list your file free.
please list any applications installed
please list any themes installed
please remove any media card you have and remove ALL media files that are in your media application.

pull the battery and repost your file free.

welcome to the forums
