Default MDS Application console - Reset Admin Password

Please Login to Remove!

Quick question -

Apparently . . .

I've forgotten the password I set for the MDS Integration Service when I installed BES 5.0.1 earlier in the year.

Is there anyway to reset the Admin password for the MDS Application Console (web)? This is on BES 5.0.1 on Server 2008.

If not, would simply uninstalling / reinstalling the MDS Integration Service resolve the issue for me?

Thx in advance for any suggestions.

All righty then . . .

Guess I've stumped the panel again.

I'm opting to uninstall/reinstall.

Viewing the Installation and Configuration Guide, I'm not clear on how to exactly uninstall. This is due in part to BAS. In the doc, it states:

If you configured high availability and you want to add or remove a BlackBerry Enterprise Server component from a computer
that hosts a primary BlackBerry Enterprise Server, perform a manual failover to the standby BlackBerry Enterprise Server
so that users are not affected by the adding or removing of a BlackBerry Enterprise Server component.

If you want to remove a BlackBerry Router, BlackBerry Attachment Service, BlackBerry MDS Connection Service, BlackBerry
Collaboration Service, or BlackBerry MDS Integration Service, use the BlackBerry Administration Service to remove the
component from the list of component instances that the BlackBerry Enterprise Server instances use.

Ok, this makes sense, but then it proceeds to step you through uninstalling via setup.exe.

OK then, which is it, uninstall via setup.exe or remove via BAS? Or is it both, i.e. uninstall, then remove the component from BAS.

Thanks again for any suggestions.

WHAT?

So what I've read about simply re-running setup.exe and deselecting the component you want to remove, is not entirely as easy as it sounds.

In removing MDS Integration, my maintenance releases have been removed.

I was at 5.0.1 MR 3 (Bundle 139), now I'm at 5.0.1 (Bundle 70). I'll need to re-install MR3. Grrrrrrrrr.
