Since I got my 9900 I have been fine tuning it (apps, display, etc), and so far, I was happy (not excited) with battery results. With standard and semi heavy use (several calls, over 30-40 emails, some txt messages and 10-20 min of web browsing/BBM) my battery lasts from 30 to 40 hours; but last night something weird happened.

I went to bed after a normal day with battery @ 45%. Only apps running were standard ones (phone, BBM, internet browser, messages and home); and I was surprised when my alarm did not go off this morning. I checked my phone and the battery was drained! I plugged it and found that last incoming e-mail happened around 1am; but somehow my battery went from 45% to zero with no use at all. Anyone has this happened before?

If you have let the battery rundown past 20% on a somewhat regular basis, more than a few times, then you might have damaged the battery. lithium batteries do not like to get down past 20%. Keeping them topped up seems to make them work better and last longer.

So my guess is that it is a battery problem, unless you had open apps that kept hitting the web, such as Facebook and Twitter.

before you go to bed, logoff from FB, twitter, bluetooth, wi-fi, YM and all IM and social sites. These sucks the battery dry. even with one bar left (yellowish one), it should give you 6 more hours (from 1am to 6 am) standby time.

Why not just plug the charger in and charge overnight? Sounds to me like the best solution.
