does anyone know why it doesnt show when someone is typing a message in the blackberry messanger? my blackberry curve used to do it but now the tour doesnt it?

Do you have the pre-installed BBM, or did you install the beta version?
Mine shows when someone is typing, always has.

This is acutally a good question, I believe it is related to the version of BBM the Tour is shipped with. This should change in BBM 5

I have the Tour on Sprint and mine definitely shows when someone is typing. There's a chance that, if you're in a poor network coverage area, and someone types a short message and sends it quickly, you might not get the notification that that message was being typed. Delays, latency, etc.

This happens to me occasionally because of the lack of reception.

Mine shows in beta as well. I am sure its simply a delay

yea its the version the phone shipped with i have a airave could that effect it? but any other time it still does not show

I have messanger 4.7.0 and it shows when someone is typing. Unless like it was said if the message is really short.

i just re-installed it straight from the desktop manager. but if u just jumped into this thread i dont know if u read what i wrote before its still not working its not showing when someone is typing a message even if i have full service or not around my airave

Um...I have my wife using Pearl on verizon...other friends are using Curves...both of them are on att.

It doesn't matter what kind of blackberry is writing back to you. And yes I read your thread and all of its responses, which is basically as simple as, you can't see "is writing a message." Not hard to figure that out...have you tried installing BBM 5.0? And the messages that are coming through, are they longer than a sentence? Sometimes it doesn come out on mine because the person is writing a short message, by the time the message comes through, its too late for it to come out at the top...
