Torch signal noise

Have had it for a couple of weeks now. In general, like it. But have come across a very obvious signal noise whenever I make a phone call - like the kind of noise you hear when some wireless signals interfere with each other. Never experienced similar issues with other BB before in the past five years! The same spot, no noise using other phones or BBs! But noise dies when you slide it open...
Someone suggested changing the sim card. Tried. Not work.
Any ideas?
