And here I am, waiting for this baby to arrive at the shop... I hope they will sort the OS and it come with the latest version it being OS7 or whatever they have to come. Its frustrating to get the phone and 3 months later you see that there will be a newer OS available but not for your new phone -.-

I'm in the same boat, sorta. I've been eligible for an upgrade on my 9650 for a while now. I've been holding out until the 9930 is released for Verizon, but reading here & other places there's still talk of a CDMA Torch2 sometime in the future. And that's what I'd really like - a larger screen but a physical keyboard. What to do, what to do?

The 9650 is working fine BTW, I'm just impatient. I could do everyone else a favor and get the 9930 as soon as it comes out, thereby GUARANTEEING a CDMA Torch2 would be released a month later

I'm at a bar in Waterloo, looking across the table and there's a RIM employee with a Torch 2 sitting on their table... I'd assume with a test device in the open, it should be out within 2-3 months (like I saw with the Bold)

Its pretty fun living and working in the W-Loo right next to RIM campus

Maybe I'll ask about it sometime if I see them again

And their friend (another RIM person) has a Bold 9900 it looks like, thought it was a 9700 or Bold 9k but it is quite slim!

Exciting to see new devices in the wild!

Exclamation Re: Torch 2 - We'll all wait for the launch date!?

Man, I was ready to pull the trigger on the Torch (1) at work, as my Bold has had the "white screen of death" problem off and on for a number of weeks. I may need to hold off for a few weeks to see if I can nail down a tentative launch date. I did my homework, I think the Torch looks pretty cool, best of both worlds, but the "2" is pretty much double the power of the first one and the HD video would also be slick. Gonna hold out, unless my Bold totally craps out.

Sometime in July is the latest date.

TechnoBuffalo.com has a video.

As far as this version being what the original Torch should have been, yeah, RIM does that sometimes. The Tour was a place holder for the 9650 Bold.

The CDMA carriers will likely get the "Volt", the new name for the Storm 3. Verizon will almost definitely get it, and I *hope* Sprint will get it too.

I haven't really seen it as 9810 but found on the internet the Torch 2 as 9810, 9850 and 9860. None of them are official since RIM hasn't confirmed it yet but all info are welcomed
Still waiting anyway :(
