Default Is Possible downloading files with Opera Mini 4?

Please Login to Remove!

I just get the Opera MIni beta (v. 4)

And although it has some little bugs...its workin fine in some pages
i could not load with v. 3.1 (specially the ones that need more advanced javascript language, like orkut)

NOw with Opera mini i even can download files...

thing impossible to me using Pearl 8100 with Opera 3.1

I could download with sucess files associated to the softs
i already have like:

.mid files (as ringtones)
.jpg (as wallpaper, pictures)

but when i try to download a diferent
file, like an .exe or whatever not associated with the blackberry
software i got some errors...

the Opera Mini even finished the download or start to download
but it sends back for the Main Blackberry browser to try to open it

is there a way to stop theto redirect the downloads to the main browser?

that´s my man problem...

thanx in advance!

I have a very good reason to dowmlosd other files. Say you have vnes and want to download games over the air and then play them from say work or somewhere you don't have access to a comp. I could do all this and more with my S60 ngage phone. Seems rim kinda shyed away from this.and as for exe files I would download them to my phone then when I got to a friends house let's say I could load up whatever I got on the phone memory to there comp. And the ngage didn't need to have a dm installed to work as a masstorage device either another one of the pearls drawbacks. But what ya gonna do eh.

The question is not why would i need you, but WHY CANT I ? ;)

Have you ever heard in a software called winrar?
it comes in .exe

some drivers you may need some time comes in .exe format (although is more common now in .zip or .rar format)

i think in a very soon future someone will create a more friendly browser capable of more things

You want to download EXE files from the EDGE/GPRS connection to your phone, through the browser?

You're provider will hate you, you'll use more bandwidth than anyone...

EXE's are pretty large files

What is it exactly that you want to do? I'm wondering, for example, if you want to download the file (the .exe) to the blackberry and then move the file to a computer, why not tether the blackberry and download using browser on the computer, directly to the computer? That's the only thing I can imagine you are trying to do. But maybe I'm missing something.

a blackberry is not a windows pc, you dont need winrar on it. you can open a zip with a bb without problems and no other 3rd party software.
