Default weird.. I can't connect to facebook

Please Login to Remove!

It was working before but the last 24hrs I cannot connect to facebook on my BB using the app.
"A connection cannot be established to the Facebook server"
I can login off my computer no problem. I removed the app then reinstalled. Still not working.
Did a battery pull. Still not working.
Anyone have an answer?

I just googled this issue, I guess I'm not alone. Oh well,"delete" now the problem is gone. I'll load again if it ever gets fixed.

Facebook for blackberry is always down. Hasn't worked right in sometime! I log on right through the website, no notifications, but better off!

Default I even had to reload this thread....

I couldn't even get through by clicking the link to this thread (took two tries). Maybe just the word "Facebook" has something to do with it! The Facebook application itself seems to hang frequently trying to refresh the news feeds. For me, it works most of the time, but it certainly isn't 100%.

This isn't a BlackBerry app issue. This is a Facebook issue. It happens all the time, but it's not the app. When it happens just tear yourself away from Facebook for a while until it works again. No need to panic. No need to uninstall and reinstall. Just be patient.

good luck waiting for facebook to fix the glitch if it is them.
It seems to me the app needs to be designed to work with the phone and facebook. Not the other way around. Cant expect facebook or RIM to make changes to work with the app. My guess is it is an app issue.

What issue are you having?? My Facebook app is working and has worked for months.

What version of the app do you have?

Have you checked your APN settings? It's not a glitch, something is not right on your device.

No... it is Facebook. They have been working on their servers and are moving to a new server structure. The service is unavailable for different people at different times. I am confident that you will be able to connect in a few days.

Mine too. I don't know what they're talking about. I've never had an issue with Facebook.

Ok, I logged in to facebook on my computer and I noticed some symbols behind my name on my profile title. Almost like I was swearing, like @#%$^#^& or something.
I have no idea where it came from. Its possible I may have accidently typed it and not noticed??? who knows. Anyway, I deleted it.
Tried to login with my BB, and it worked!!! What the hell??? Very strange. Could it have come from installing the facebook app on my new BB. This is weird. Oh well, its working. If anyone else is having this problem. Check your profile for weird symbols.

Same thing happening with me. I get the error could not establish a connection to the server. Data connection is not available. I'm sure my APN settings are right and facebook application does have all rights to connect.

Lightbulb Log out of Facebook on your computer

I've been battling this same issue for weeks! I tried using the Facebook app for my BB and logging on via my browser on BB - neither would work. When I tried using the browser it told me to log on via my computer - which I've done tons of times BUT!!! it hadn't occured to me that I should LOG OUT, then log back in. Geez - once I did that it took me thru some steps to update my password & privacy settings. Viola! IT WORKS AGAIN!

Hope that helps you.
