Default Putting Email accounts on hold

It would be great if you could put an Email account on your BlackBerry on hold. Suppose your work email comes to your BlackBerry and to your work computer, then it is useful to stop delivery to the BlackBerry while you are at work.

The same applies when you go overseas and you want to stop delivery to avoid roaming charges.

Your point? You can always turn off data services, but when you turn it back on your mail would arrive.

I don't think it is that big a deal as I do not recall that many complaints.

If you are on a BIS, you can use the option under "Filters" on your BIS page or in the Email Settings to temporarily suspend emails from being pushed to the device.

Those messages would never be forwarded to the device, however.

No idea how it works if you are on a BES.

You can disable Email on a BES account as well.

As for delevery while roaming... changing data services to off while roaming will stop delivery of mail (and other expensive data) until you either have Wi-Fi service, return to your home network, or set it to on (after having secured a second mortgage to pay for the data charges ;) )
