Hi all,
I recently bought a BB 8700g. Is it possible to switch to different languages
while typing a sms/email etc ? The manual says you can do that by pressing alt+enter but this doesn't work on me. My version is v.4.1.0.286 , platform 2.0.0.124. Is there any other external application that you have to install ?

The alternate language(s) need to be installed first

If you go to the "settings/language/Input Method" option you can find a lot of languages (e.g. english, deutsch, espanol, greek ... etc) available to choose from.
Does this mean that they are already installed ? If you choose one of them from settings menu the you can use it to sms or email. But you cannot change the language on the fly ... you have to change it from settings...
Any ideas ?

I know it's possible because I have done it by accident. However, I forgot how I did it on the 8700g.

When composing an e-mail/SMS, click the track wheel and scroll down to "Change Language." If you have alternate languages installed, you can select an alternate language to use for input. The alternate language will remain your language of input until switched back.

click ALT + ENTER (return key) from almost any screen as a shortcut to choose an alternate input language, UNLESS this shortcut has been disabled from the options > language menu.

trick is to press & HOLD the ALT key & click the ENTER key, the whole list will be displayed

Finally I upgraded the software and now everything works fine !!
Maybe my version was too old
